Axinn Secures Multiple Shortlists for 2026 Global Competition Review Awards
February 2, 2026
Axinn is honored to be recognized by Global Competition Review with multiple shortlists for the 2026 GCR Awards, underscoring the firm’s continued leadership in competition law.
Axinn was shortlisted for “Firm of the Year – Americas,” honoring an outstanding 2025 defined by both the quality and volume of its competition work. The nomination reflects the Firm’s continued momentum, including the depth of its antitrust bench and its success guiding clients through complex, high-stakes competition matters.
Axinn Managing Partner Jeny Maier was shortlisted for “Lawyer of the Year” for her work advising leading private equity sponsors and Fortune 500 companies on complex antitrust issues in high-profile, multibillion-dollar transactions. A Chambers USA–recognized antitrust leader with two decades of experience, she is known for her strategic approach on merger clearance matters and has driven record firm growth while fostering a collaborative culture.
Axinn’s merger control work was recognized with two shortlist nominations spanning Europe and the Americas. Axinn served as global coordinating antitrust counsel to Worldpay in its $24.5 billion acquisition by Global Payments, part of a transformative three-way transaction, which was shortlisted for “Merger Control Matter of the Year – Europe.
In the Americas, Axinn was shortlisted for “Merger Control Matter of the Year – Americas” for its representation of AssuredPartners in the antitrust aspects of its $13.45 billion acquisition by Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., one of the most significant transactions in the U.S. insurance brokerage market. These nominations recognize creative, strategic, and innovative competition work on a landmark merger control matter in each region.
The finalists were chosen by Global Competition Review’s editorial team, with winners determined by an online vote of GCR readers. Readers can vote here until February 9th.
The winners will be announced at GCR’s 16th Annual Awards Ceremony on March 24th in Washington, D.C.
