Antitrust After the Midterms: What Comes Next for Enforcement, M&A, and Business Strategy?
Axinn will host a timely discussion examining how the results of the 2026 midterm elections may affect antitrust enforcement, merger review, competition policy, and the broader regulatory landscape heading into the 2028 presidential election cycle.
Axinn partners James W. Attridge and Mary Helen Wimberly will be joined by Cornerstone Government Affairs principals Cassie Smedile and Daniel P. Smith. Cassie previously served as a Senate communications director and deputy communications director to the RNC, while Daniel is a former Senate chief of staff and Judiciary Committee chief counsel.
Together, the panel will examine the political, regulatory, and practical implications of the election results, including potential developments in DOJ and FTC priorities, merger review and enforcement policy, antitrust litigation and investigations, and the role of Congress in shaping competition policy through 2028. The discussion will also address key considerations for businesses, dealmakers, and in-house counsel navigating an evolving regulatory environment.
CLE credit approval is pending.
