Eva Yung is an associate in Axinn’s litigation group. Her experience includes matters involving complex contractual disputes, antitrust issues, unfair and deceptive practices, and defamation. She specializes in breaking down complicated legal issues and fact patterns into manageable and successful strategies in a variety of contexts, such as multidistrict litigation and sprawling class actions. She has also taken leading roles in internal investigations and advised international clients on sanctions, FCPA and anti-terrorism law issues, as well as whistleblower guidelines and risk assessments. Outside of commercial litigation, she has also taken on immigration matters at the agency and appellate level.
Prior to joining Axinn, Eva practiced in the litigation department of a global law firm. She earned her JD from New York University School of Law and received her BA in History and Science, magna cum laude, from Harvard University. While in law school, Eva interned at the Immigrant Rights Clinic of Washington Square Legal Services Inc.
Experience
- Currently defending Google in multidistrict litigation challenging Google’s advertising technology business.
- Leading the associate team in the successful defense of chess Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen against antitrust and defamation-related claims brought by Grandmaster Hans Niemann, which led to a federal court dismissal.
- Defending a generic pharmaceutical manufacturer in a multidistrict litigation pending in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania involving industry-wide price-fixing allegations.
- Representing generic pharmaceutical manufacturer in connection with opioid-related multidistrict litigation pending in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and various state courts.
- Representing Board of Directors of a prominent financial institution in several large internal investigations conducted in partnership with the Securities Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice, among other federal agencies.
- Successfully defended affiliate of Mercury Public Affairs in high-profile contract and corporate governance dispute.
