Axinn partners Mike Keeley and Paul Zeineddin moderated panels at IAM & GCR's SEP Virtual Summit, on September 28 and 29.
Mike moderated a panel entitled, "The Global SEP Policy Landscape." This panel addressed several topics regarding SEPs, including the Biden Administration’s agenda, the European Commission IP Action Plan, and its recommendations for the licensing of SEPs, and China.
Paul moderated a panel entitled, "Holding Up and Holding Out: The Evolution of Licensing Negotiations." This panel discussed the implications of key global case law developments, the competition implications of hold-up or hold-out in the relationship between patent holders and implementers, how to stay on the right side of FRAND, and European Commission antitrust guidance on standardization agreements.
