On March 15, Axinn partners James Attridge and Daniel Bitton spoke at CompLaw's Competition Law Nordic Conference, held March 14-15 in Stockholm, Sweden.
James spoke on a panel entitled, "What is New in Cartel Enforcement?" Panelists will review recent enforcement actions and discuss the demise of leniency applications; public vs private enforcement; and cartel screening, including use of algorithms in detection.
Daniel spoke on a panel entitled, "Merger Control Part II: Emerging Theories of Harm and Other Practical Challenges." Panelists discussed Article 22 after Illumina/Grail; killer acquisitions, vertical mergers, and innovation; how much importance authorities are putting on individual conversations and Teams chats; and best practices in merger control, including dealing with delays in mergers and their impact on the business.
