Axinn Recognized Among the Best Antitrust Practices in NY by Global Competition Review Magazine

In its 11th annual guide to the world's leading competition law and economics practices, Global Competition Review Magazine ranked Axinn among the top antitrust practices in New York as part of its GRC 100: New York list. The ranked list of top antitrust practices considered antitrust deals, practice size and impact of antitrust litigation in 2010.
Global Competition Review Magazine noted Stephen Axinn as “fielding a stellar reputation” and highlighted that John DeQ Briggs “brings deep experience to the team.”
During the past year, Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider’s team: won a significant victory for Group Health Incorporated and the HIP foundation when a federal judge rejected a claim based on the upward pricing pressure test outlined in the federal government’s new merger guidelines; worked on the Anheuser-Busch/InBev brewer merger, and has been retained by food-packager Bemis for its acquisition of assets from Rio Tinto; partner John D. Harkrider represented Omnicare in its conspiracy claim against United Health; and parnter Michael L. Keeley successfully fought off videogamemaker Electronic Arts’s attempt to acquire rival Take-Two.
