January 27, 2025
Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP announced today that Scott Eisman has joined its litigation practice as a partner in the New York office.
“Scott is an outstanding litigator with a proven track record of representing global companies and financial institutions in high-stakes cases and investigations,” said Denise Plunkett, chair of Axinn’s litigation practice. “His extensive experience in commercial, appellate, and white collar matters adds further depth to our team and will serve our clients well.”
“This is a fantastic complement to our existing litigation team,” said Axinn’s managing partner Jeny Maier. “Scott’s arrival emphasizes our commitment to investing in our people and expanding the superior advocacy capabilities we provide for our clients.”
“I’m thrilled to join the outstanding litigation team at Axinn,” said Scott. “The firm consistently delivers exceptional results, earning well-deserved recognition across the industry. Axinn provides the perfect platform to help clients navigate their most complex litigation challenges.”
Scott was most recently at Freshfields, where his work included defending Google against antitrust claims concerning advertising technology and in a commercial litigation matter involving a cryptocurrency scheme. He also represented Africa’s largest telecommunications company in Anti-Terrorism Act litigation and contributed to resolving criminal and regulatory investigations into Volkswagen’s diesel emissions controversy. Additionally, Scott has defended multiple public companies in securities lawsuits, helping to secure the dismissal of claims against companies such as 3M, Morgan Stanley, and Credit Suisse.
Earlier in his career, as an Assistant Solicitor General in the New York State Office of the Attorney General, Scott argued nearly 20 appeals and dispositive motions and authored dozens of briefs, including one for the U.S. Supreme Court that earned the National Association of Attorneys General’s 2019 Supreme Court Best Brief Award.
Scott began his career as a law clerk for the Hon. Louis L. Stanton on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York before joining Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. Scott earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his B.S. from Cornell University.
