Axinn represents Google in connection with the patent/antitrust issues raised by Google’s $12.5 billion acquisition of Motorola Mobility Holdings, Inc., which was recently cleared by the Department of Justice and European Commission without formal remedies. Cleary Gottlieb also represents Google with respect to antitrust and corporate issues related to the transaction.
Google’s acquisition of Motorola Mobility, the largest in its corporate history, is central to the company’s efforts to strengthen its patent portfolio and allow it to protect the Android platform from anti-competitive patent aggression. The Axinn team includes John Harkrider and Russell Steinthal.
