Axinn Obtains Antitrust Clearance for $1.775 Billion Combination of SunGard Higher Education and Datatel, Inc.

Axinn successfully obtained antitrust clearance for client SunGard Data Systems' proposed sale of SunGard Higher Education to Hellman & Friedman LLC, parent of Datatel, Inc. Both SunGard Higher Education and Datatel are significant providers of ERP solutions for higher education institutions. The U.S. Department of Justice issued a Second Request, but ultimately cleared the transaction without any remedies. The Axinn team included partners John Harkrider, Michael Keeley and Mark Alexander.
