Axinn Secures Global Antitrust Clearance for Ball’s Acquisition of Rexam
June 29, 2016
Axinn acted as global coordinating antitrust counsel for Ball Corporation in its acquisition of Rexam PLC, which was conditionally cleared by the Federal Trade Commission on June 28, 2016 following earlier clearances by the European Commission and Brazilian competition authority (CADE). The transaction, which was a nominee for the Global Competition Review’s 2016 “Matter of the Year” award, cleared the antitrust review process following the negotiation of a $3.8 billion global divestiture sale to Ardagh Group. The Axinn team was led by partners John Harkrider, Nick Gaglio and Mark Alexander and counsel Morris Bloom.
