Reflecting on 2023 Events: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

We proudly partnered with several diversity-focused organizations throughout 2023, supporting events that brought together attorneys from all backgrounds for networking and educational opportunities. We take pride in highlighting some of the events that we supported in 2023, and we look forward to continuing our commitment to supporting such events in 2024.

National LGBTQ+ Bar Association Lavender Law Conference and Career Fair 2023
The firm participated in The Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair, which is the largest LGBTQ+ legal conference in the country. The Conference and Career Fair were designed to foster community and inclusivity for LGBTQ+ candidates in the legal field.

MCCA Creating Pathways to Diversity Conference and Diversity Gala 2023
Again in 2023, the firm participated in The Creating Pathways to Diversity Conference, which aims to support the promotion and retention of diverse attorneys. Partner and Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer Leslie Overton moderated a panel on accessibility, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, and several Axinn attorneys attended the Diversity Gala as well.

National Bar Association 98th Annual Convention and Exhibits
The National Bar Association, established in 1925, is the largest network of predominantly African-American attorneys and judges in the country. We were pleased to support the 98th Annual Convention and Exhibits, which included almost a week of speakers, panels, entertainment, networking, and education.

NAPABA Convention 2023
The NAPABA Convention is an annual event for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students. It offers a unique opportunity for networking and sharing insights within the legal community. A number of Axinn attorneys attended the 2023 Convention and the LGBTQ+ Network Reception.

ACI 10th Annual Women Leaders in Life Sciences Law Conference
ACI’s goal for the Women Leaders in Life Sciences Law Conference is to increase the prominence of women through professional development, legal discussion, and networking opportunities. In 2023, Axinn partner Jeny Maier and counsel Rebecca Clegg both spoke on panels discussing different topics in life sciences.
