CompLaw's Antitrust West Coast Conference took place on February 12 in San Francisco. During this one-day event, attendees reviewed recent antitrust developments, learned about practical challenges specific to the West Coast, and heard insights from in-house counsel and government regulators.

Axinn partner Daniel Bitton chaired the conference and spoke on the Vertical Mergers, Innovation and Other Non-price Considerations panel. The session addressed vertical mergers after AT&T/Time Warner, conglomerate mergers, and non-price factors in merger reviews.

Axinn partner and antitrust group co-chair John Harkrider participated in the Big Data: Privacy, Data & Disruptive Innovation panel. The session addressed the role of consumer protection in antitrust, issues involved in big data and antitrust, global authorities' approaches to big data, and how antitrust might adapt to new challenges. 

Axinn partner Tiffany Rider participated in the New Types of Cartels: How Are Authorities Approaching Them? panel. The session addressed the US Department of Justice's approach to no-poach cases, crafting public statements to avoid price-signaling accusations, and differentiating legitimate joint ventures from cartel conduct, as well as artificial intelligence, algorithmic cartels and machine learning.
