January 30, 2014

Nine Axinn attorneys were honored by inclusion into the Empire State Counsel® Program by the New York State Bar Association, during a luncheon on January 30, 2014 at NYSBA’s Annual Meeting in New York City.  The Empire State Counsel® Program recognizes NYSBA members who, during the calendar year, performed 50 hours or more of  pro bono legal services either through direct legal representation of a low-income/vulnerable individual, or donating free legal services to an organization whose services are designed primarily to address the legal and other basic needs of persons of limited financial means, or providing free legal services to an organization dedicated to increasing the availability of legal services to vulnerable and/or low-income populations.

Rachel Adcox and Thomas Hedemann, associates in Axinn’s Washington DC and Hartford offices, respectively, each completed over 200 hours of eligible service in 2013.  Gail Gottehrer, partner in Axinn’s Hartford office, completed over 150 hours of eligible service in 2013. Hartford-based e-Discovery attorney Brooke Oppenheimer was also honored.

Axinn attorneys contributed more than 2600 combined hours of pro bono legal representation in 2013, reflecting a significant commitment to public service from a firm of 60 attorneys.
